I had fun today. When to Fredricksburg, a neat old German settlement that has been revived, and we had lunch with family. It's a central meeting place for all of us and some of the best German food in the area. The bluebonnets are usually beautiful, but, this year with the Texas drought, there isn't fields of them. It is a shame because it's one of the best scenes.

Those who know me are aware of me leaving a wonderful job and relocating this year. It's a trying year with lots of downs and hopefully, more highs coming my way later in the year. This is my attempt at remembering the beautiful area I was luck to live in for a short time.

Lifenote April17

I have been absent lately. Haven't felt like crafting anything. Dealing with feelings and family is not a happy situation that inspires someone. Add divorce and grown children and the mix can be toxic to the muse. But, the good news is that I have a full time job AND a great trip to Lubbock this weekend. It's just fun being in the youthful atmosphere you lived and loved in. Got to visit a new winery, McPherson Winery, in Lubbock. Go in and visit with the fun loving guys in the tasting room on Saturdays. Of course I'm biased since I'm related to one of them, but, you'll enjoy it and the wine is excellent.

Scrapbooking has been on my mind. It seems to have a healing quality for me to pull out memories and try to remember the happy, fun moments of our lives. Here's the one for today.

Scrapbooking

I've been scrapbooking my former life. In trying to organize mementos and photos for the nth time I ran across these pictures and the moments spoke to me. Sounds like I'm physic doesn't it.

I had fun doodling on this page. The green just didn't do it and the white pen drawings seem to make the difference. Hard to believe Amy was ever that small but once upon a time....

Butterflies and Hydrangeas

Well, this has been a week. Saturday I got to paint with a group from San Angelo. I really enjoyed it and they do a wide range of different painting techniques I've never tried. Here is my "project" from the day. I think Mom is hanging it with her garden bench.

On a personal note, I had a job interview and got two sup jobs for this week. I can make it one more month. YEAH!

Love is a gift. Don't ask for the receipt.

Happy Valentine Day, Sallie

I love coloring. That is the biggest appeal for me with cards. There is just something calming and satisfying about it. I just love these vintage views and making them come alive.

I knew in college that crafting was a passion. Painting lessons was one of my passions I wanted to pursue. I remember my grandmother with fondness because we stitched, quilted, crocheted, and made candles all for my enjoyment.

I heart you

Here is my valentine this year. A tribute to my North Carolina kitties who I miss. They were my best friends and always there and willing to entertain me even when I didn't want to be.

I have had black cats for the last 10 years thanks to Emily and a loud, mouthy black cat, Miss Abby. Even in her senior years, she is still one grouchy old lady and has taken up residence with Amy and Dustin. Today there is Libby, the feminist who need no one, and Pee Wee, the half breed (part black and white) who loves to lick toes. And, I can't forget Miss Midnight, the sweetest and most psycho kitty I've ever encountered.

Here's to the best companions humans have. I {heart} you!
